Get Your Library Card Today

With your library card, you can:

  • Borrow books, eBooks, DVDs, and more from our extensive collection
  • Access online resources including databases, research tools, and digital media
  • Attend enriching programs, workshops, and events for all ages
  • Use public computers, printers, and other technology resources

How to Register

Signing up is easy! Simply complete the online registration form or visit our library to apply in person. If you're a resident, teacher, or student in the Braidwood district, you're eligible for a library card free of charge. Non-residents may also qualify under certain conditions.

Step 1:

Complete the online form below, making sure to provide all required information.

Step 2:

Wait for confirmation. Once you are approved, you will receive an email with your card number so you can begin enjoying online resources right away!

Step 3:

Visit the Library by the end of your 7-day temporary access period to pick up your physical card at the front desk. Be sure to bring a current driver's license and 2 utilities bills from the last 4 weeks.

Step 4:

All done! You now have privileges to all our online content and the ability to check out books, DVDs, and other material from our physical collection.

We extend an invitation to residents of Braidwood, Bonfield, Braceville, Custer Park, Essex, Gardner, Godley, Shadow Lakes, Shannon Shores, and South Wilmington to apply for a library card. Please be aware that eligibility for a library card may be restricted for residents whose property taxes do not contribute to the public library.

How to Get Your Library Card:

  1. Complete the form below to request your card.
  2. Our staff will process your request within 3 business days.
  3. You will receive an email with your card number and instructions for accessing your library account online.
  4. Enjoy a 7 day temporary access period to our digital resources, then visit the library to pick up your physical card to access all the library has to offer.
