About Your Bookmobile

The Fossil Ridge Public library has been providing bookmobile service since 1994.

You’ll find our bookmobile at four schools, K-8th grades, helping approximately 700 students. Our travels also take us to eight communites in Grundy, Kankakee and Will counties. Our library district covers 160.3 square miles, of which, the bookmobile travels approximately 1,000 miles a month!

The Bookmobile staff members are Bart and Sue.

6:30-7:00 Pajama Story Time will take place on the 2nd Monday of the month. January 7th, February 11th, March 11th, and April 8th. Children ages 3 to 6 are invited to come hear stories and have a bedtime snack. Wear your pajamas and bring your favorite stuffed animal friend. Registration is required.  
Spend the afternoon enjoying a classic movie with your friends. Refreshments provided. Registration is not required. 1:00pm  
Boy Scouts of America– January 21st 2:00- 3:00. Since 1910, Scouting hasn’t been so much about twigs and leaves, camping or hiking as it is about the spark. The spark may be a leader’s encouraging words, achieving a merit badge for engineering or going on a high adventure rafting trip. A representative will be at
Club 345– Club 345- 3rd through 5th graders are encouraged to read the books then join us the third Monday of the month at 5:30 to view the movie and compare and contrast the two. Monday, January 21st – The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling Monday, February 18th– The House with a Clock in its
Wednesday Mornings 10:30-11:00. Lap-Sit is an interactive program for children ages birth to 24 months and their caregivers. You’ll sing songs, fingerplays, and enjoy reading time together. Registration is required, caregiver must attend with child.  
Thursdays 10:00-11:00. Toddlers and their caregivers can explore and play with different toys and sensory materials each week, develop fine and gross motor skills, as well as social interaction and language skills. Caregivers must accompany child during program. Recommend for ages birth-four years. Registration required
