The library district will satisfy the 21st Century educational, recreational, and literary needs of all ages in our communities with superior service in physical and virtual environments that provide access to the world of social and cultural ideas, and enrich the quality of lives.

Meeting Dates

The regular meetings of the Library Board will be held at the Fossil Ridge Public Library, 386 W. Kennedy Road, Braidwood, Illinois, at 6:00 p.m. on the 3rd Monday of the month. *The August meeting will be held on the fourth Monday of the month.

The next Regular Board Meeting of the Fossil Ridge Public Library District Board of Trustees will be held Monday, January 20, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the Fossil Ridge Public Library, 386 West Kennedy Road,Braidwood, IL 60408.

This public body may adjourn to closed session to discuss matters so permitted, and may act upon such matters upon returning to open session. Any individual requiring special accommodations as specified by the American with Disabilities Act is requested to notify Fossil Ridge Public Library at 815-458-2187 at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting date.




Lastest Events

Family story time is for families with children from birth- 5 years. It includes songs, rhymes, stories, and a small craft. Registration required, caregivers must attend with child.
This instructor lead program introduces children to the joys of preparing and cooking food that is both nutritious and delicious. Children ages 2nd- 5th grade, registration required, 20 children max.
Social Security:  Today, Tomorrow and for the Future | Wednesday, 11/20 @ 6:00pm –  7:00pm |  Join our presentation to learn more about surprisingly complex situations including: When to consider claiming Social Security benefits, how being married, divorced or widowed can impact your benefits, how to potentially give your Social Security check a boost and
Toddlers and their caregivers can explore and play with different toys and sensory materials each week, develop fine and gross motor skills, as well as social interaction and language skills. Caregivers must accompany child during program. Recommend for ages birth-four years. Registration required
Bring the whole family and celebrate family reading night. This years theme is “It’s showtime at your library”, we will be creating crafts, reading stories together, and have refreshments. No registration is required.
Join us each week as we build, create, and use our imaginations with Legos. Duplo blocks will be available for children ages 4 and under. No registration required walk-ins welcome.
